@hteso Transponder shut-off, communications off, direction change at a waypoint, but ACARS Tx pings. Flight MH370 a possible ACARS hack?

My personal assumption would be that a transmitter at least would likely have been on-board, if not the person controlling it.

ACARS is satelite-data though, so if it was a software attack either the feed would need to be compromised or overwhelmed.

Since aircraft manufacturers deny the security hole exists, it’s impossible to say if that’s possible.
